For three decades Eddie has written for, and toured and recorded in small group formats, building up relationships with top musicians around the world.
His small band work encompasses “power-trio” in the blues-rock tradition (as on his current release “Black White and Blue“), to traditional blues styles (as in his new 50s-inspired outfit “The 58s”), and experimental fusions (jazz, funk) but always with original compositions.
Eddie’s skills as a stand-alone guitarist on slide and standard guitar, both acoustic and electric, are the bed-rock of his charismatic live performances in small bands, and have won him acclaim and awards throughout his career.
However, Eddie’s ability to play sophisticated harmonica techniques on a rack while simultaneously playing guitar is a key feature of his small group performances. This enables both a bigger and more varied sound than the usual guitar-based blues/ blues-rock trios, and the introduction of innovations such as horn section riffs and themes on harmonica and guitar, and simultaneous guitar harmonica soloing.
